Trace, Profiler, and Query Insights: a narrowing sequence

• Cloud Trace narrows a slow multi-hop request down to which service is slow; Cloud Profiler narrows a slow service down to which function is the bottleneck; Query Insights, with the index advisor, narrows a slow database call down to which query and what's missing.
• This is a genuine investigative sequence, not three independent tools to check in any order, Trace's finding of 'the database call is the slow part' is specifically what makes Query Insights the correct next stop.
• Tell the slow-drift incident: Query Insights had correctly flagged an index-missing query for weeks, visible the entire time, but nobody had a standing habit of proactively checking it, since the regression never crossed any single-day alerting threshold. The gap was process, not tooling.
