Filestore shares files; Cloud Storage FUSE exposes objects through file calls
Filestore is managed NFS with ReadWriteMany semantics. Cloud Storage FUSE is useful when applications need file-like access to buckets, especially for model data, but object-store semantics still matter.
Filestore
Durable shared NFS for multiple readers and writers.
Enterprise tier
Regional availability and multishare options for suitable workloads.
Cloud Storage FUSE
Mounts an existing bucket through a CSI-managed integration.
Cache and buffer
Local SSD, Persistent Disk or memory can improve reads and stage writes.
Do not migrate a POSIX-sensitive database onto an object-backed mount because the path looks like a directory.
