Module 1
Core objects
Before any control-plane theory you need the nouns: Pod, label, namespace, ConfigMap, Secret and probes. Every later slide uses them.
Why it matters. Every object you will ever write is a variation on the same manifest shape, and labels are the glue that makes Services, Deployments and policies find their targets.
After this module you can answer
- What exactly is a Pod, and why is it not just a container?
- What are the five fields every manifest has?
- How do labels and selectors connect objects?
- When do I use a ConfigMap versus a Secret?
- How do liveness, readiness and startup probes differ?
